Running Club
Every Wednesday morning at 8:00 am, whatever the weather (well as long as it is not actually tipping down) a small band of keen and hardy folk set off from Beech classroom at school for an early morning run.
Led by Mr Everitt and usually accompanied by Mrs Blythin and Mr Harland, the running club heads across the ridge towards Lydiard Park. On reaching the park each runner decides just how energetic he or she is feeling, choosing whether to run around "one lake" or take on the longer and more challenging "two lake" route.
After a brief pause by the lake to catch their breath and take in the calm, peace and beauty of Lydiard Park at that time in the morning, the runners head back to school, arriving at about 8:35, awake and buzzing, ready and raring to tackle the day ahead.
Running club is a great way to start your Wednesday and we would love to see more runners taking part. With plenty of adult supervision, runners can run at their own pace and there is no pressure to "keep up". (It has to remembered though that it is a running club, not a walking club) Anyone in years 4, 5 and 6 can join, so why not give it a go. For more information see Mr Everitt in school.
